It's fun, but actually one of my least favorite of the board sports precisely because you have to rely on the boat and driver. Hard to progress when you feel guilty for making them come get you again.

It is a load of fun though!

I've been riding for about 10 years and this crew of nutjobs is about the coolest group you can imagine. I've NEVER seen the level of encouragement that goes on. No one cares how well you ride, just THAT you do! It's pretty sweet.

So when you DO hop on a board, don't worry about falling. We all do from time to time. Some more than others (myself included- how do you think I got the nickname "bulldozer")

btw, Austin is awesome. Only been there for SXSW, but absolutely loved it. Do you get in a lot of wakeboarding?

I think mountainboarding is a great fit for a roller-derbyin-mountain-biker! One of the top female pros, Carolyn Kunkel does derby in NYC. She's kicked my ass riding too many times to count!
