One-5 Media is a crew of guys who have been in the sport as long as I can remember, and they consistently up the ante no matter what they do. Since becoming the moguls of the mountainboard video scene, they are pushing it to the limit. Their latest release (okay, it was a couple of months ago) tore the roof off.
And I'm not just saying that because the segment filmed at the Hillbilly Training grounds aka The Trailer Park aka my house is off the freaking hook.
Peep it:…

It's been a couple years since the mountainboarding world has had a magazine showcasing their beloved sport. The last big one was likely "All-Terrain Boarding Magazine" which brought a lot of joy to people's lives and helped push the sport in…

“So you’re a friend of Hillbilly,” they all say.
Brian Southard is Hillbilly, and the answer is one of my best. He owns the company. They sell protection for “yer ass.” Pads, man. Some of us need them. Not me. Not today. I ride longboard all the time. I skate, but I’m not strapping one of those on tonight. I’ll leave that to the pros.
These boards have bindings for your feet. Mountain bike-like, shock-bounce and wheels…

You may have noticed that we changed the look of the Hillbilly Social Club. Honestly, the old look was thrown up (pun intended) in a couple of minutes. I had no plan to keep it up for very long.
So onto the new look!
What do you think?
We're going to very soon apply it to the rest of the Hillbilly Site, which desperately needs it.
Also, if we have any designers out there who want to try their hand at tweaking it...tweak away! I can envision it having so subt…

The 1-5 Crew is many things. One of them is fashionable.
For those of you who don't know the 1-5 Crew or have any idea what the 1-5 Crew is all about, let me enlighten you.
The 1-5 Crew invented fashion. Before the 1-5 Crew men wore barrels as pants, and the women wore loose-fighting and generally unflattering sacks of King Head brand flour sacks. It was sad.
But since the 1-5 Crew changed all that. Now many wear bandanas around their necks, and the ladies now have soc…

I moved into a house today 2 houses down from where I lived in High School, which was a bit surreal. It is wooded in this hood. Trees and leaves and big lots and it has been and still is fall. Autumnal sensations, football season, leaves changing, falling, blowing. Crisp, cool breeze season. The hoildays are here too and Thanksgiving is always my favorite, almost every year. I am a divorced and unemployed and bankrupt

If you haven't heard by now Evil Knievel, the man who inspired so many of us, has died at age 69.
I don't think anyone has done more to bring the adrenaline-pumping, envelope-pushing, risk-taking lifestyle to the masses than Evil. As a child in the 70's, he was a hero to me. I wanted to be just like him. I wanted to soar across a jump, just because someone said it couldn't be done. I admired him so much, that it got me into trouble.
I got my first bike when I was about 6. Bein…

So, um,
WTF is up with The Hillbilly Social Club?Well, having looked around the Internets and not finding exactly what we were looking for, we decided to make it for ourselves. The goal is to have a dedicated space for the type of people who rock the Hilllbilly line. So to all you people out there who push the limits, and occasionally fall doing it, this is for you.
WTF is Hillbilly Protection?Hillbilly Protection started as Hillbilly Dirt Gear supplyin…
